Write for us
We welcome considered pitches about astronomy and space exploration, especially pieces that help a general reader notice, understand or ask better questions about the sky. Send proposals through the Contact page.
What we welcome
Pitch clear explanations of celestial objects and sky patterns, comparisons of ways to observe, thoughtful accounts of astronomy history, or accessible pieces about the ideas and craft behind spaceflight. Evergreen subjects are especially welcome when they offer a distinct point of view rather than repeating a familiar overview.
A useful pitch
Tell us the central question, the reader the piece is for, why the subject is worth a closer look, and the main points you would cover. Include a brief note about your relevant experience or perspective, without assuming that credentials alone make a pitch suitable. Do not send a finished article unless requested.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title and a concise outline in your message. Please send original work and flag any relevant outside interests or material that could affect how the piece is read. A proposal is not an accepted assignment until we agree on it.
The sky rewards a second look
A familiar patch of night can hold more than one story: a changing phase, an old observing habit, or a question that reaches beyond Earth.
